Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Lip

Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) can be an aggressive cancer, especially when it occurs in a high risk site, such as the lower lip. Management requires complete excision of the full thickness of the lip with an adequate safety margin. The resultant defect closure needs to be carefully designed so as to maximise restoration of both form and function.
